The Sleepbreeze personal cooler is an innovative 12-volt cooling fan which helps you sleep in hot, stuffy cabins. You may be familiar with the traditional ways of ventilating a yacht's cabin, such as wind scoops and solar powered vent fans. You may also appreciate that wind scoops don't work if there is little or no prevailing breeze to capture! Equally you will recognise that there is a difference between the minimal ventilation needed to keep moisture levels down out of season low (preventing soft furnishings going mouldy) and the air flow needed to keep a person cool in a berth when the sun has been beating down all day. That's where Sleepbreeze comes in.

Sleepbreeze is an energy efficient fan, generating sufficient airflow to cool a person. The fan is attached to a purpose-built fabric duct. Place the Sleepbreeze alongside you as you lie in your berth and a cooling breeze emerges from holes down the length of the duct, providing a cooling effect over your whole body. Simple.

When not in use simply fold the duct back into the integrated pouch and stow it away ready at a moment's notice for when you need it next. The whole product packs down to about 5x5x5 inches, so it fits neatly away into the smallest of lockers.

Using just 4 watts ( 12 volts at 0.3 amps ) it won't drain your yacht's batteries, either. And because it uses so little electricity you can also run it from a battery pack which we're happy to supply. Simply use AA rechargeable batteries and you will get around 6-8 hours cooling. Typically, however, people tend to feel a bit chilly after about 10-20 minutes. That's why we built a timer into the product so that it turns the fan off for you. It also prevents your fellow sailors referring to you as "Shiver me timbers" for the whole of the cruise.

So, there's just enough time to tell you that you can pull the duct off the fan unit and give it a wash now and then. Oh, and also if you need to secure it inside a cabin then there are lanyard pins on the fan housing and a drawsting at the other end so you can sling it up just about anywhere!
